Starting care is a significant transition for children and families. We use a gradual settling process designed to build trust and help your child feel safe before you leave.
Orientation visit
You and your child visit together to explore the environment and meet their primary educator.
Short stays with you present
Your child plays while you stay nearby — building familiarity with the space and educators.
Brief separations
Short goodbyes, with your child reassured that you'll return. Gradually lengthen over days.
Full sessions
Once your child is settled, full days begin. We update you via OWNA throughout.
Tips for a Smooth Start
- Keep goodbyes brief and cheerful — a confident farewell reassures your child
- Bring a comfort item from home (a favourite toy or blanket)
- Establish a consistent goodbye routine your child can predict
- Trust that tears at drop-off are normal and typically resolve within minutes

How Our Fees Work
Wonder Seed is not yet approved as a CCS provider. CCS information will be confirmed after construction and the required approvals are complete.
Fees include all meals, resources, and excursions unless stated, and vary by program and age.

Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
The CCS is an Australian Government means-tested subsidy that significantly reduces your out-of-pocket childcare costs. Most families are eligible for some level of subsidy.

Victorian Funded Kindergarten
Eligible 4-year-olds in Victoria can access 15 hours per week of government-funded Kindergarten, administered by the Department of Education.
- Must turn 4 before 30 April of the kinder year
- 3-year-old funded kinder also available (15 hrs/wk)
- Enrol early — places are limited

What should my child bring each day?
A named drink bottle, sunscreen (SPF 50+), a spare change of clothes, and any comfort items for rest time. All meals are provided — no lunchboxes needed.
How do I communicate with my child's educator?
We use OWNA, a secure parent communication app, for daily updates, photos, observations, and messages. You'll receive login details during enrolment.
What is your immunisation policy?
Under the No Jab No Pay / No Jab No Play legislation, we require up-to-date immunisation records (or a medical exemption) before enrolment can be confirmed.
How do you handle allergies and dietary requirements?
We are an allergy-aware centre. All dietary requirements, allergies, and medical conditions are documented and shared with the kitchen and all educators. We work closely with families to keep every child safe.
What happens when my child is unwell?
We follow NHMRC exclusion guidelines. If your child becomes unwell during the day, we will contact you to arrange early pick-up. We ask that sick children stay home until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours.
How do I access the Victorian Government-funded Kinder?
Once we receive Victorian Funded Kindergarten registration, eligible 3 and 4-year-olds will be able to access funded hours through our Kinder program. Contact us and we'll keep you updated as this progresses.
Is there a holding fee for the waitlist?
We do not charge a holding fee. Register your interest to join our waitlist — we will contact you as places become available.
